CONGREGATION FOR THE CATHOLIC EDUCATION |
Basilica of St. Peter, December 6 2002 |
During this international Lecture, on the complex theme and of great actuality regarding the globalization, we practiced every day and almost in the central moment of it, the Eucharist Celebration. |
In this way our Conference has assumed a strong ecclesial character and one genuine position in the Christian operational dynamism. In fact, the Catechism of the Catholic Church - quoting the Council Vatican II - remembers us that" the Eucharist is source and apex of the whole Christian life”. |
The Catholic university, therefore, wanting to effectively pursue its own precious Christian mission for the good of the humanity, cannot put aside from the Eucharist. Lord wants, in this Celebration near the grave of Peter, to make us aware of this. |
We do all to live fully the Eucharist. In contact with Christ - really present in the Eucharist in the action of the greatest demonstration of his immense love - we try to strengthen our faith, to maintain working and vigorous our appointment of Catholic university, to enrich the world and to approach to God, source of every good, and not to leave us - contrarily - to pervert from the mentality of this world, and to become so a salt that has lost the taste. |
